Their legs are designed to support their massive weight (up to 14,000 pounds!), but they’re built more like pillars — strong and sturdy, not springy. But don’t feel bad for them — elephants can swim, and they’re surprisingly great at it! They’ve been spotted swimming for miles across rivers and lakes.
